We take part in various track & field competitions, both for juniors and adults, and encourage all runners to take part. We are in several leagues and our athletes also compete in various open competitions, County, Midland and National Championships.
Seniors - we are members of the Midland Track & Field League, which was formed in 2008 following the merger of the separate men's and women's leagues. This has been very successful and our team is a mixture of specialist track athletes who have come from the junior ranks and other, slightly older athletes.
Juniors - we take part in the Heart of England League which caters for under 11, 13, 15 and 17 age groups and provides excellent competition. It is also a great introduction to different competitions for the younger age groups.
In addition, we compete in the newly formed Warwickshire U11 League. The objective of the League is to provide appropriate competition for the 8-10 age groups (U-9, U-10, U-11 or school years 3, 4, 5). The aim is to permit and encourage participation in an enjoyable sport and development will come naturally. This League is used to introduce athletes to the concept of competition in a sporting and well mannered climate. It emphasises the importance of team competition as well as individual achievements.
One innovation in this league is that it will, as much as possible, use parents as officials, so as to simulataneously train the athletes and technical officials of the future..
