Stratford Junior Aquathlon

Sadly cancelled for 2020 due to Coronavirus Lockdown

We have secured a new and fabulous venue on the outskirts of Moreton-in-Marsh for our aquathlon in 2019.

This is an afternoon event focused towards Junior Athletes as part of the West Midlands Junior Series, however, all ages are welcomed to take part.

The first swimmers (Tri Star Start) will be off at around 12:00 hrs, with wave times confirmed nearer the time.

This event is a permitted event under the rules of Triathlon England.

The following is a summary of the key details for this event. Entrants will receive a full Race Pack approximately 2 weeks before the race.

Location

The event will take place at Moreton Fire College, London Road, Moreton-in-Marsh, GL56 0RH

Brief description

Inclusive and friendly club-organised Aquathlon, with all distances provided from TriStart to Seniors. Starting in the clean 25m Leisure Centre pool followed by an off-road run using the well-maintained grounds of the Fire College.

West Midlands series

Having run this event successfully for the last few years, we are pleased and proud to announce that this year the event continues to be part of the West Midland Junior Aquathlon Series.

British Triathlon Membership

If you are not a member of a British Triathlon home nation, then you will need to purchase a day licence. This is automatically charged through the entry central system. If you are a member, then please remember to bring your card with you to registration.

For your safety and to abide by the rules: no card on the day = you will need to buy a day licence.

Age Groups & Race Distances

*The Youth Competition is not part of the West Midlands Aquathlon Series

Start Times

The Aquathlon swim start times will be allocated based on estimated swim time in each age category. We will have exclusive use of the pool and continue with the plan in having two swimmers in each lane, this enables us to have a competitive race.

The waves will start with Tristar, working through the age groups to Seniors at the end. The first wave proposed to start from 12.00hrs, although timings will be confirmed in the two weeks prior to the event.

Race Day

You will need to register earlier on the day, please allow time to do so and read the detailed race information pack for details of registration and timings for the same.

At the start of the first wave, the transition area will be live and no further entry by any competitor, not racing will be permitted.

Ensure you are ready and waiting on the poolside 15 mins before your race start time. (Start times will be provided in the detailed race pack).

Race Brief

A mandatory race briefing will be given in the leisure centre sports hall prior to the start.

Prizes

Prizes will be given for the first, second and third male and female winners of each age group. Age is calculated according to British Triathlon rules as your age on 31st December 2019 (i.e. the end of the year of the event).

We are also awarding spot prizes – these will be at the discretion of the Race Director!

Results

Provisional results will be posted at race HQ on the day, and 15 minutes before the prize-giving (to allow competitors the opportunity to check their result before the prize presentation). Full results will be available on the race website www.tempoevents.com within 2 days of the event.

Consent

Signatures and entry are an acceptance that any photos taken can be used in any published information after the event e.g results or news reports. Please speak to registration staff if you do not agree to this.

Race Cancellation Policy

If for reasons, that are outside the control of the organisers, events dictate that either the Race Director or the Triathlon England Official has to cancel the event, we will be unable to provide a refund of the race entries and fees associated with the same, due to costs being incurred well in advance of the event.

Our Club

Stratford Upon Avon Triathlon Club is part of Stratford upon Avon Athletics Club.

We have grown from being a small section of the club to now having a significant number of junior and senior members, that are learning about, training and competing in all forms of multi-sport. We have regular training events throughout the week, with something always happening.
