Track and Field
The club will help athletes improve their fitness and skills to meet their potential, irrespective of their ability level and provide the opportunities to compete in the different competitions the club is involved with.
We are in several leagues and our athletes also compete in various open competitions, County, Midland and National Championships both for juniors and adults, and we encourage all our athletes to take part and compete.
Seniors
The Senior Track & Field athletes meet on Monday evenings from 6.30pm to 7.30pm and Thursday evenings from 7.00pm to 8.00pm at Stratford School Track, Alcester Road.
Training is led by experienced qualified coaches and is designed to improve your form, fitness and performance.
We are members of the Midland Track & Field League and our team is a mixture of specialist track athletes who have come from the junior ranks and other, slightly older athletes.
We also compete in the Midland Vets League.
Juniors
The main Track and Field training is on Tuesdays at Stratford High School. More advanced athletes and specific event group development is by invitation only at Thursday training sessions. More information and key contacts are here.
The club’s philosophy is that all junior athletes are encouraged and given the opportunity to run, throw and jump. Therefore, the Tuesday training sessions in the junior section are split into age groups to build friendships within their own peer group rather than event groups.
We take part in the Heart of England League which caters for under 11, 13, 15 and 17/20 age groups and provides excellent competition. It is also a great introduction to different competitions for the younger age groups.
In addition, we compete in the Warwickshire Sportshall and Midland Cross Country League and we encourage and support athletes to compete in various Open competitions including county, regional, schools and national championships.
