Club Address

We are based at Stratford Sports Club, Swans Nest Lane, Stratford Upon Avon, Warwickshire CV37 7LS

Club membership provides acess to  Stratford Sports Club.

Club Night

Our main club night is Wednesday. We meet at 1845 for 1900, starting  from the Sports Club. These are social runs, with different self-organised groups according to preferred pace and distance. Often people will stay on after the run for drinks and food (food must be pre-ordered before you head off).

We also run a chaperone group – one of the more experienced members goes out with any prospective new members, those who have just joined, and anyone else who would like to come. The objective here is to make sure that new members get looked after, run at the right speed and distance for their ability and to get to know others of their ability before moving on into other groups.

If you’d like to try us out before joining, you’re welcome to come along for a couple of different sessions. Please contact us to arrange this so we know to look out for you!

Track Training

On Monday nights we have different coached track sessions focusing on endurance and sprints. The sessions are for everyone of all abilities, speeds and fitness levels and vary each week. They are led by experienced qualified coaches and are designed to improve your running. The sessions are great fun and you will learn lots about running and improving your fitness, form and performance.

The sessions are based at Stratford High School, Alcester Road CV37 9DH and are at 1830 and 1845.  If you’re thinking of joining and would like to try us out for a couple of sessions, please click on Join Us above and complete a registration.

For Juniors there is weekly endurance training on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Stratford High School.

Social

Members will sometimes organise random things like quizzes and ad hoc social runs or rides via the members-only Facebook page. On Wednesday evenings some choose to stay for drinks and/or food after their run. Food has to be pre-ordered before you head off on your run and you will need to let the chef know what time you’d like it ready for.

Saturday morning trail runs are always at a chatty pace with plenty of photo opportunities in the beautiful Warwickshire countryside. They also involve coffee and cake!

Competitions

Club members  participate in many different events, either as a team or individually. Everyone is welcome to take part if you wish – it’s entirely up to you. Members have taken part in a huge variety of events from Race for Life to Marathon Des Sables, Cyclo-sportive to Ironman. You name it, it’s been done in yellow and black! So if you’re thinking of taking part in an event, come and benefit from the experience and knowledge we have.

We also organise different events, some of which are open events eg the famous Hilly Hundred road race and others that are for club members only, eg our monthly Shakespeare races from January – October.
