Short and Sweet.

Benji Fernandez won a bronze medal in the Warwickshire County AA Quadrathlon at the weekend which he was rather happy about. He missed out on silver by just 5 points.

Congratulations Benji

A shortish newsletter this week starting off with a further reminder of the upcoming Club Championships on 12th of this month. These Championships are the most important event in the club calendar with a huge amount of work involved in putting them on. Please do not leave it until the last minute to apply.

We’ve got news and results from the recent Warwickshire County AA Quadrathlon Championships in Leamington and also news of Josh Davis’s impressive victory in France.

There’s photos and a link to the results of the Summer 6 with a full report to follow and finally a bit of parkrun info.

Take care

Best wishes

Josh Davis took part in the Mini (age 12-13) Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc last week and won it!
He was the only English competitor and ran the 3km course in the mountain village of Les Contamines really strongly…not sure the French were too happy
Well done Josh.

Thank you to those who have submitted their entries but the response so far has been extremely poor!

The club championships is the most important competitive event in the year for all of us and is open to all Juniors and Seniors.

Please do not leave it until the deadline as there is an incredible amount of preparation work to be done to make these championships happen.

Complete your entry now returning it to me on this email.

The absolute deadline is 8th September. If you have not received a form or are struggling to download it please email me a list of your events.

Any questions please don’t hesitate to ask me, Paul Bearman, your AGL or a club coach

I will not be sending individual acknowledgments to each entry however, confirmation and instructions for the day will be sent a few days before the event.

Kind regards,

Adrian Mason on his way to a magnificent 2nd place finish in the Summer 6
Fern Hordern our first lady to finish in the Summer 6 and 4th lady overall.
Jan Turner and Fin Hutchinson with Josh Dobedoe. obviously all enjoying the race.
Summer 6

Hopefully we will have a full report on our very own Summer 6 race last weekend. Stuart tells me that to date only Adrian Mason and Tim Hutchinson have sent him a report on their race, which is a shame. The more the merrier!

For those of you who ran please drop Stuart a line with your comments on the race.

And Finally
Parkrun tourists

Club members’ have been out and about competing in parkruns other than our own.

However in last week’s Stratford parkrun congratulations are due to Alex Adams who lowered his PB last weekend to 15.57. Yes 15.57.
In the same event Kate Wright recorded a scarcely believable age grade percentage of 97.98%

To put this into perspective, the parkrun website states that 100% is approximate World Record level and above 90% is World Class level. So Kate is comfortably World Class level but we knew that already didn’t we ?
Club members Martyn and Kate Sergent with Rosie Slocombe having completed the Seaton parkrun last weekend where Rosie ran a PB.
Henry Sims ran a PB time of 26.05 at the Bolberry Down parkrun. Henry is pictured with Harriet Black who also ran but didn’t have her barcode with her. No comment!
